Welcome to a World at War. Welcome to East Versus West. The Battle for the Ages. Post your main shit here. Once everyone's signed up and has posted their actions in this thread, I update. Repeat process. Slashes (I.E. those in the Faction territories) are Airbases. Black Diamonds are Wells. Grey Lines are Pipelines. R means Refinery, and C means City. Brown hexes are Mountains, which are impassible and cannot be captured. Same goes for Blue, which is Sea (Or Lake, depending on your definitions). Tan Hexes are Desert, and function as normal.

Location: Port Igneous \ Sector 6.5, 10
THe High commander and ruler of Port Igneous, Herbert Wojtek, was peering through his spyglass and looking across the bay at the large, brooding oil refinery. He would crack a smile and turn to one of his officers. "Send an army east and follow the pipe lines. I want to work my way towards the refinery across the pond." The officer salutes and marches off.
Movement phase:
Moving east, rolls d100; gets 94(/10)= 9 territories. (Lucky roll! If you want, you can re-roll it!)
Action Phase:
Herbert walks up to a podium in the center of town and gives a speech to attract more soldiers. "My beloved desert folk... I wish for you to join me in this time so that we can grow stronger and larger then ever before. Across the bay is the oil refinery that we so desperately need! We need it to use the crude oil we have so that it can be turned into useful petrol; the same petrol that powers the local hospital with all of those poor sick family members~" He waves his arms up and rest them onto his chest to cover his heart. "My heart beats and aches for those poor souls. Join me and you'll save their lives!"
Rolling for warriors, rolls d100; gets (80/10)+2 = 8+2 = 10, roll fails horribly. No troops gained. Rolling for warriors, rolls d100; gets 80+2 = 82, roll passes. One regiment of troops gained.

One terrified lieutenant and one Marcus Bowman were at a desk on their respective sides. Marcus wore his usual - a gillie suit covered his face. Only the edges of his mouth could be seen. Even then - his face was covered in black paint. He chomped down on a cigar. Small sparks dribbled down his suit. It never caught fire. The fire itself had learned not to fuck around with the Lion. "Sir, I did EVERYTHING. I had no control over who they sent- I didn't think that they would send this incompetent-" "Lemme tell you a story, Majeed. This is a story of a man who had to do everything he could to survive. And because of him doing everything, and I mean EVERYTHING he had to do, he got a second chance. And I believe in people making great sacrifice and getting a second chance." Marcus puffed his cigar a little, causing the room to be clouded in smoke. It perfectly fitted with his deep Australian accent. "This man lived in Algeria during the Algeria incident. This man went to Siberia. This man worked in the second Gulags." The lieutenant trembled. He had no idea what was going to happen next - Marcus' capacity for violence and spontaneous action made him a feared man. Marcus raised his right hand and the lieutenant flinched. It was missing a digit. "This is what happened when I beat a man to death. He recognized me and tried to kill me. Took off my finger before I beat him to death with his own leg. Frozen, like a lamb chop. Anyways, I knew that I would infect if I didn't act quickly." He revealed the rest of his hand. It looked sickly. "I held my hand in the negative sixty temperature for four hours to stop the bleeding. I did what I had to, to survive." Marcus took out his infamous bowie knife. "So tell me, Majeed. What are you willing to do to survive? Perhaps..." He shoved the knife into the oak table. "You would be willing to cut out your eye. And chop two of your fingers off. Then I might not have to kill you." The knife reverberated in the wood. "Just some food for thought. I have to make a speech from this building. Try not to scream too loud while you're plucking bits of your optical nerve out of your skull."
He stepped outside the door.
"PEOPLE! PEOPLE OF AL-RAHEED AND PEOPLE OF LIBERATED LANDS!" A massive crowd stood before him. "TODAY, WE SHALL BRING PEACE TO AFRICA, ONE FOOT OF LAND AT A TIME! WE SHALL BURN A HOLE INTO THE RED BEAST SO DEEP THAT NO STITCH COULD MEND IT!"
The cheering almost drowned out the screams of a man with a knife in his eye.
Movement phase - 20,20 to north, got a 66, gain 6 territoruuuu
Action phase - shoring up around space 20,20, preferrable north. Get a 26. 2.6 terrs improved def.

Location: Perfect Blue. Coordinates: 17, 16.
Standing atop the Royal Palace, Perfect Blue's highest point, the Teacher watched silently over the bustling metropolis. A colossal ring of giant walls and sky-scraping spires tower over the surrounding landscape. This city has mightily stood for generations, enduring both Nature's harshness and the test of time. But now, with stormy skies gathering on both horizons, many question whether or not this shining Eden caught between two opposing sides will survive the coming New Age. The Teacher was dressed in desert garbs, with a hood and veil covering the head and face. A soft gust of wind and a shift in posture revealed a darker, sandy brown military-style jumpsuit underneath the fluttering garment. There was a glimpse of an armband, embroidered in the Royal crest with a small word in Gothic written underneath: Lehr. "Do you know how to determine who is on your side?" the Teacher spoke to no one in particular, still watching the city from above. The artificial voice rang out in a raspy, dry tone. "Keep your friends rich, and keep your enemies rich. Then wait and see which is which." The Teacher then glanced northwards, where a large factory looms in the distance. A small smile peaked out from underneath the face veil. "Well, let the games begin." Movement Phase:
Her Royal Majesty's Desert Fighters mobilized once more after several years of relative inactivity, and prepare to receive their new mission.
Moving north, rolls d100; gets 34(/10)= 3 territories. (Captured territory coordinates: (17,14), (16,14), (17,13) )
Action Phase:
The city is several generations old, and its structures are slowly but surely degrading. The construction of fortifications and reinforcement of the walls shall now commence!
Fortification, rolls d100; gets 51(/10) + (2 strategy x 5) - 1= 14 territories. -For next turn: Gaining troops, rolls d100; gets 72 + 2 leadership= 74. Success, gains 1 standard regiment. (Total number of troops at 6 Standard Regiments and 15 Desert Fighters.)

Action phase - north east towards ref, preferably along the line if possible Roll - (23) - 2 territories north east
Turn territories from NE downward into shored. Roll - (70) + (2(cun) * 5) / 10 = 80 or 8 territories shored from NE downward in terms of how far north they are and how far east they are receiving the shoring first.
APCs break down due to mechanical failure, thus preventing further movement forward. Mechanics show up to work next day missing toes.

He feels pleased with his work and orders to have a party for the upper brass once the oil refinery across the way is taken for him. Movement Phase:
Moving east from the newly captured Refinery, rolls d100; gets 75.8(/10)= 8 territories. (Lucky roll!) (Captured territory coordinates: (18,13), (19,13), (20,13), (21,13), (18,14), (19,14), (20,14), (21,14) )
After successful annexation of the northern Refinery, now renamed New Frontier, Her Royal Majesty's Desert Fighters turned their attention east. Another factory looms in the distance, looking ripe with opportunities.
Action Phase:
Gaining troops, rolls d100; gets 72 + 2 leadership= 74. Success, gains 1 standard regiment. (Total number of troops at 6 Standard Regiments and 15 Desert Fighters.)
With conflict looming on both horizons, it was decided by the Royal Council that Perfect Blue's defenses must be increased. By decree of Her Royal Majesty, a new regiment of the Royal Guard is formed.
Negotiation Phase: (Assuming that I do annex the east refinery, and that REDFOR now borders New Frontier and BLUEFOR now borders, well, me)
A delegate representing the Kingdom of Perfect Blue is sent to the nearest REDFOR and BLUEFOR territory (one delegate per side), seeking goodwill relations and asking for negotiations on trading fuel resources in exchange for favour. Especially, negotiations are planned regarding the operation of the Refineries and producing oil for each side, since the Kingdom of Perfect Blue controls several wells, lines and Refinery(ies), in exchange for favours and goodwill.

Movement Phase:
Moving west from the newly captured Refinery, rolls d100; gets 49(/10)= 4 territories gained. (Captured territories: (16,13), (15,13), (14,13), (16,14) )
The two colossal titans were moving at lightning speed towards each other. REDFOR demonstrated an impressive speed that allowed for the capture of many territories in a short period of time, while the slower BLUEFOR showed a powerful balance between offense and defense, armoring their territories as they captured them. These realities worried the Council, and they approached the Teacher and Her Royal Majesty for their opinion on the matter. After lengthy discussions, it was decided that the Desert Fighters will divert part of their forces and mobilize west towards Purple City, effectively cutting off a major route of engagement between the superpowers should fighting break out.
Action Phase:
Fortification, rolls d100; gets 27(/10) + (2 strategy x 5) - 1= 11 territories. (I just want the eight new territories to be armored. Please do what you will with the extra)
After another outstandingly successful campaign, new orders were given to Her Royal Majesty's Desert Fighters to begin reinforcing the annexed territories. The orders were also very strict upon the treatment of peoples in the new territories, and the principle of peaceful communication. As such, borders were kept open for freedom of travel, while vehicles of the Desert Fighters patrol regularly to maintain the security. The new Refinery is renamed Standalone Complex.
Negotiation Phase: (Well now, look at all these resources!)
The delegate sent to REDFOR returned triumphantly, having secured a positive relationship with the superpower. As a gesture of goodwill and friendship, the Kingdom of Perfect Blue sent REDFOR 15 oil, hoping that the humble gift would somehow be beneficial to the new friend.
Word of internal strife within BLUEFOR had been circulating between the Council members, especially after the delegate sent there returned empty-handed. As such, based on a majority vote, the Royal Council have decided to return to BLUEFOR territory with a delegate once more. Planned topics of negotiation includes seeking goodwill relations and asking for negotiations on trading fuel resources in exchange for favour. More importantly, while the Kingdom may have claimed the Refinery and the wells, BLUEFOR under the command of a mysterious general have seized control of most of the pipelines leading back to Perfect Blue. It was thus only logical to recommend a partnership, a form of mutual respect and goodwill, between the Kingdom and East BLUEFOR: the Kingdom would harvest and produce the resources, and claim a share of the portion, while the rest can be transferred to BLUEFOR. It benefits both parties, and help to build a strong relationship. As a gesture of goodwill and friendship, the Kingdom of Perfect Blue sent BLUEFOR 15 oil, hoping that the humble gift would somehow be beneficial to the potential new friend.

Delegates from the Perfect Blue Kingdom are met with by both Marcus(in his "Sunday Best" armor with helm) and Gonzo. As representatives of the Perfect Blue Kingdom they are thanked for the Kingdom's generosity.
A counter offer is proposed -
Blufor is willing to offer: 1. Perfect Blue Oil will be processed through the pipelines in eastern Blufor territory to the most recently acquired Perfect Blue Refinery. 2. Collaborative airstrips built in the northern territories of the Perfect Blue Kingdom. 3. Future protection from Blufor against any potential threats to the Kingdom. 4. Blufor upholding of their side of a non-aggression act. 5. Payment of 3 oil per turn. 6. Favor with Blufor High Command.
In exchange for: 1. Perfect Blue Kingdom eastern refineries processing Blufor oil(as stated above this would net you 3 oil turnly from this). 2. Free movement through Perfect Blue Kingdom territories. 3. Perfect Blue Kingdom upholding of their side of a non-aggression act.
Marcus placed that pad down in front of the delegates. "This is the best offer you're likely to get from anyone." A pen was lazily lying on the pad. "I can tell what you're thinking, and how you can manipulate this to your advantage. And here's the thing, I'm going to tell you how. This non-aggression agreement here doesn't bind you to fight with us; you can wipe your hands clean and make a nice little net profit off of this while remaining mostly neutral. And if Redfor or some independent with as much brains as a can of sardines does attack you? We've got your back. And you can be sure of that, because it's in our best interests you stay independent. And besides, if anything this ensures a peaceful southern border. And if you do get into a pickle, you can call in with High Command - I'll put a good word in for ya so you can get what you need, when you need it." He turned the pad around and the pen yawed and bucked slightly on the uneven table as it slides towards the delegates. "Honestly? I recommend taking it."
Marcus then makes a space to allow Gonzo to chime in... (If you want to contribute haz, nows the time to)

Movement Phase: Rolls d/100 gets 55(/10) = 5 Herbert has his forces move into territories: (8.5, 12)(9.5, 12)(8, 13)(7, 13)(6.5, 14)!!
Action Phase: Rolls d/100 for political sway, gets 18 + (2*2)/5 = 4.4 or [4]
Story Phase: Herbert was a very busy man, he was running around in his command center trying to become more influential with the city houses. He was attempting to increase his political sway in Port Igneous but to little, the houses are asking him for trade deals so that their city state can grow in stature in comparison to the cities around them and he agreed to this quickly, as he doesn't want to show weakness. He sends a delegate, by the name of Hanz, to Red territory with a simple deal: "For every two oil you wish to purchase from us you must pay us one favour, you can have a maxim of twenty oil from us at any time but you must pay the according amount of favour. We may also speak about oil loans but that may be for another time..."
At the same time Herbert's military force blitzes it's way towards the refinery capturing at high noon. The purple forces that were harassing them the last few days have been delt with accordingly and are no longer a threat to them. Due to this the military force marches far beyond the refinery and move towards that snobby blue city that always mocked Port Igneous. They soon set up camp outside of their rival city as a way to scare them into submission.

Movement Phase - Moving off of recently acquired Gonzo territory to the west, moving up towards purple city, trying to capture those two wells. rolled - 1/100 critical failure in every way shape and form (0 fucking territories you piece of shit online dice rolling ass bag) We make absolutely no progress. All of the APCs break down. Every one of the trucks tires blow out at the same time. All of the food is eaten by locusts. Everyone contracts scurvy due to lack of food. Water sources reveal to be contaminated with heavy metals. All of this happens within minutes of eachother. Each and every on of the guns malfunctions as a swarm of hyenas crawls over the sand and attacks them and the crew is forced to fight them with makeshift clubs made out of apc parts. The hyenas stop being an issue once poisonous gas fissures open and covers the area in toxic gas. As the crews desperately puts on their gas masks mutated, 3 foot long camel spiders crawl out of the fissures. After three minutes of constant fighting with dying hyenas, camel spiders and gas masks, around 75% of the party survives and one of them is dumb enough to ask how it could possibly be any worse, only to have the entire gasoline reservoir of every APC and truck explode simultaneously. Overall the scout party manages to make it half a kilometer from camp before they're stopped dead in their tracks and they walk back covered in blood, camel spider goo, toxic gas smells and burnt gasoline. The lieutenant in charge sarcastically notes the mission as "slightly delayed" with the footnote "I doubt these men will ever recover from their PTSD". Action phase - Waiting for Yui on this one. If you accept the offer, we can start construction immediately. www.wizards.com/dnd/dice/dice.htmnever use this dice roller it's fucking gamed

He turned the pad around and the pen yawed and bucked slightly on the uneven table as it slides towards the delegates. "Honestly? I recommend taking it." Marcus then makes a space to allow Gonzo to chime in... (If you want to contribute haz, nows the time to) The delegate finished with a click of the pen, after neatly scribbling down the counter offer in exquisite cursive upon an embroidered sheet of paper. He swiftly but elegantly turned the paper towards the BLUEFOR party, and slid it gently to them. The Kingdom of Perfect Blue is willing to propose this final offer: 1. Perfect Blue oil will be processed through the pipelines in eastern BLUEFOR territory to the most recently acquired Perfect Blue Refinery. In exchange, Perfect Blue Kingdom eastern refinery Standalone Complex will be processing BLUEFOR oil. 40% of all oil produced by this refinery each day (each turn) will be transferred to BLUEFOR; the remaining is Perfect Blue property. 2. Airstrips may be built within BLUEFOR territory next to the Kingdom's territories, but any military flights directly over the capital of Perfect Blue will be treated as an intrusion of sovereignty. 3. BLUEFOR forces are welcome to move through the Kingdom's territories freely, but none of the territory travelled on by BLUEFOR forces will be turned into BLUEFOR territory, and said forces will have the period of 24 hours (a turn) to move pass said territories. If any BLUEFOR force remains after the aforementioned period, said force will be interned and released back to BLUEFOR custody across BLUEFOR lines. 4. One Tank Regiment as a one-time trade, in exchange for all of the aforementioned proposals (all of which will happen as long as this agreement persists). "We are neither interested in being a supporter, nor an ally, Mr. Marcus. We simply are interested in being partners in production and creating friendly relations between our nations. These are the only offers we were authorized to make by decree of Her Royal Highness, and, good sir, you will find that these offers are indeed very generous. They allow you movement through our sovereign kingdom, and also grants you resources, things unheard of in our history for the past decades. They offer nothing but benefits for you, and in return, we simply and humbly request some of the many tanks you possess, to conduct research for agricultural purposes. It is the best deal that we are willing to offer. Otherwise, we unfortunately must both return to our respective nations empty-handed. It is indeed your choice to make."

(Point 3 and 2 are the same, so they're agreeable) (Haz, if you're ok with this, then I'll agree with this)
Marcus chuckles while he reads. "Agricultural purposes... I like your style." He finishes reading the note. "I can honestly agree to this, although why you turned down several of the benefits we were willing to provide will confuse me for the rest of my life. Ah well."
Marcus hands the surprisingly silent Gonzo the pen and talks with him over private comms from his helmet. "Why don't you sign this one? The public loves hearing about generals brown-nosing locals. Hell knows that we could use good publicity."
