GEONOSIAN SHIPS



The H'T'Paak-Class Gunship, like it's larger sister, the Eorlax-Class, were both built for two purposes: Ship Destruction and Orbital Bombardment. Sporting a large compliment of Geonosian-designed turbolasers, as well as Sonic Pulse cannons able to devastate a large area of planetary surface if positioned above the target, both are able to act in offensive capabilities against a wide range of targets. The H'T'Paak-Class, specifically, is also designed with a central spinal lance of middling power, able to cut through most ship armor with slightly more strength then a turbolaser. However, this comes at the price of less and weaker standard turrets, being shorter in range and designed to fight smaller vessels and act as point-defense; but still being able to be employed against larger vessels, if needed. The Eorlax-Class drops this spinal lance in favor of additional guns and hull armor, as well as a large compliment of tracking missiles, designed to combat larger ships' hulls more effectively, or to deploy droid boarding parties by releasing Limpet ships mounted inside. Both ships are quite maneuverable, but given their size, can only take so much punishment.

Quite larger then the previous two, the aged E'Y-Akh-Class Destroyers were produced over 20 BBY ago, as planetary protection against smugglers and pirates. Like it's predecessor, the Eorlax-Class, it has a large compliment of missiles, and acts as the bulk of the Geonosian fleet during times of war and peace. The E'Y-Akh-Class is able to perform a wide range of duties, including a small compliment of fighters, additional turbolaser hardpoints, and a ramming arm on front designed to physically cut through the hulls of most other ships. Two large turbolasers are mounted on the front to assist this, and droid bays specifically designed to hold boarding parties are positioned in the forward section, enabling the ship to act as both transport, warship, and raiding ship. Despite this, the class is still aged, and it's replacement, the Mk.II variant, includes upgraded quad turrets, as well as additional hardpoints across the side, suiting it more to the Confederacy's aim of direct ship-to-ship combat.

The Ha'p-Tak-Class Carrier was designed for one purpose: Carrying large amounts of fighters and transports. Perhaps the largest single carrier in the Confederacy, the Ha'p-Tak-Class has proved useful in the carrying of troops and fighters, and is able to deploy more then several wings of fighters, with two through-deck hangar bays and a large storage area for more fighters in the forward section. As well, the ship contains a large amount of Buzz Droids, built on Geonosis, to disable nearby ships and for deployment in fighters. The Ha'p-Tak-Class contains a minimal of firepower, as well as armor; but is largely able to hold it's own in combat, due primarily to it's large store of fighters. Unlike similar Geonosian designs, the Ha'p-Tak-Class does not have a forward armored section; containing only a small splitter on the front that acts as a navigational and directional tool. Despite it's size, it is still rather slow, and often is escorted by several Gunships at a time.

The P'h-tauch-Class Heavy Destroyer, built on the success of the E'Y-Akh-Class and it's refitted cousin, expands on the idea; transforming itself into a warship of all warships. Designed specifically to combat and stand up to most Republic Star Cruisers, the P'h-tauch-Class expands on the idea of a spinal lance, adding it into the frontal section along with an extended armored section. As well, most all of the ship's hull armor is upgraded, built to withstand heavy amounts of fire, and additional Missile bays, as well as side-mounted Sextuple Turbolaser turrets- A new addition- enable it to stand up with a large amount of firepower against most all Republic or Hutt warships. It also contains a secondary command center, and a large amount of Battle Droids are stationed in the main hull to repel boarders and limpet ships. Upgraded engines give the P'h-tauch-Class a larger degree of speed, and it stands as a match to most larger vessels.

A rather unusual design, the Ha'k-Ick-Class Carrier was initially created from a smaller variant of the Ha'p-Tak-Class Carriers. It contains a much smaller amount of fighters; but unlike it's predecessor, features a semi-separated command center; as well as a Factory section just beneath, under many layers of armor. This enables the Ha'k-Ick-Class to perform a role much different then it's similar counterparts: Actively replace lost Fighter and Droid compliments. It has downgraded engines, and a rather odd maneuvering profile, but it makes up for this in the space available for transport, and many Ha'k-Ick-Class ships are used as troop transports and control/EM ships, fitted either with a large troop section or an enhanced sensor suite able to jam the sensors of many nearby vessels.



The K'oo-ssi-Class Star Destroyer is Geonosis' answer to the Venetor-Class and Acclimator-Class Warships made by the Republic. Designed to be long and slender, as well as incorporating two Ion cannons as used by it's Separatist counterparts on either side, the K'oo-ssi-Class gives up most of it's maneuvering and speed for firepower and defense. The ship is much more automated then it's counterparts, and is designed to serve a role as a 'Monitor' ship; able to use it's superior hull armor to absorb a large amount of shells while having less direct armament. It has a large frontal spinal lance that runs the length of the ship, as well as large, side-mounted superlaser cannons designed to punch through large amounts of armor once a ship has been disabled.



The C'Aaal-Class Dreadnought is the largest ship in the Geonosian fleet. Being similar to other Confederacy designs, the C'Aaal-Class has a mostly oval-shaped hull, and blackened hull plating made from rare materials. It often serves as a command ship and flagship, able to coordinate a large amount of vessels at once, and has side-mounted firepower and point-defense with extended range to support it's sister ships in combat without becoming directly involved. It also mounts a Sonic-Ion Spread Cannon on the front, tied directly to the Ship's Drives, firing a Sonic-Ion beam in an arc forward of the ship at closer range. The C'Aaal-Class is a colossal vessel, larger then most, if not all, Republic ships, and is only produced in limited numbers due to it's sheer size. However, the sight of one is sure to strike fear into the heart of any shipman.



The earliest Geonosian ship, the Geonosian Solar Sailer is a small scoutship designed to be piloted by a crew of 7. Containing a strong sensor suite and being able to maneuver without the use of fuel when out of Hyperspace, it has proved useful for the scouting and preparation of many Hyperspace routes into and out of Geonosis, as well as for diplomatic missions. The ship is unarmed, and unsuited for combat; but is hard to detect, operating with a minimum of power.

The aged Nantex Starfighter, designed for Geonosian home defense, has seen service in Geonosian forces since the world's expansion and centralization, many years ago. Despite this, it still remains a very effective and maneuverable craft, with a gimbal-mounted frontal weapon designed to shoot any fighter in front of the vessel with minimal direct aiming by the pilot. It's shape enables it to be stored in highly compact racks, allowing much more to be stored then otherwise possible, and it can be piloted either by Geonosian pilots or by Droids, using an internal interface to seamlessly link with the Droid's AI core and enable much faster response times.
